About third-party applications

Ideally, you should only install third-party applications from trusted sources, such as BlackBerry App World. Other third-party applications might cause issues on a BlackBerry smartphone.

In the following cases you should refer to your organisation's IT administrator or the third party application:

BlackBerry App World

You can download and install applications using BlackBerry App World. If have questions about how to use BlackBerry App World please go to www.blackberry.com/appworld or mobile.blackberry.com to access the BlackBerry App World help and available reference guides.

Download location

If you do not know where the download location is on the BlackBerry smartphone, you might think the BlackBerry smartphone is not functioning correctly.

Verify that the third-party application is located in the appropriate location. If you do not know where the download location is, then you can locate third-party applications.

To verify that a third-party application is downloaded, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Home screen, click Downloads.
  2. Verify that the third-party application appears. You can then move the application to the Home screen or another folder to enable fast access.

Note: You can find and open downloaded items on the BlackBerry App World storefront My World screen. You can also find downloaded items on the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, or in one of the following folders on the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone: Downloads, Games, Applications, or Instant Messaging.
